Chris Gallant Speaking, a sole proprietorship operated by Chris Gallant (“Chris Gallant Speaking,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates chrisgallant.ca (the “Site”).
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you.
Chris Gallant Speaking is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), where applicable.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Site.
Information You Provide
We may collect information that you provide when you:
Purchase a product;
Request or arrange a school workshop;
Subscribe to the email list;
Contact us by email;
Complete a feedback survey; or
Otherwise communicate with us.
This information may include:
Your first and last name;
Your email address;
Your billing or shipping address;
Your telephone number, where required for an order or delivery;
Your school or organization;
Grade level, workshop selection, presentation size, number of students, and number of requested workshops;
Information included in correspondence or form submissions;
Products ordered, selected variations, order value, transaction status, and fulfilment information; and
Any other information you voluntarily provide.
Please do not provide sensitive personal information through a form, survey, or general email unless it is necessary for your inquiry.
Purchases and Order Fulfilment
When you purchase a product through the Site, we collect the information necessary to process the transaction, fulfil the order, provide customer support, maintain business records, and address returns, refunds, disputes, or delivery issues.
This may include your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, telephone number, order details, and transaction information.
Payment Processing
Online payments are processed by Stripe. Payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and is handled according to Stripe’s own privacy practices and security standards.
We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number. We may receive limited transaction information from Stripe, such as the transaction status, payment method type, and transaction identifier, so that we can confirm and manage your order.
Printful Fulfilment
Physical print orders are produced and shipped through Printful, a third-party print-on-demand fulfilment provider.
We provide Printful with the information reasonably required to produce and deliver your order. Depending on the order and destination, this may include:
The recipient’s name;
Shipping address;
Email address;
Telephone number;
Products and variations ordered; and
Other information required for production, delivery, customs, or customer service.
Printful and its delivery partners may process this information in Canada, the United States, the European Union, or other countries in which they or their service providers operate.
Printful handles personal information according to its own privacy policy and applicable data-processing terms.
School Workshop Requests
When you submit a workshop request, we may collect:
School or organization name;
Presentation or class size;
Number of requested workshops;
Grade level;
Number of participating students;
Workshop selection;
Your first and last name;
Your email address; and
Information included in your request or subsequent correspondence.
We use this information to review the request, communicate with the school or organization, assess availability, arrange workshop details, provide invoices, and maintain appropriate business records.
Workshop requests and feedback surveys may be collected and stored using Tally, our third-party form provider, and may also be sent to us by email. Tally processes information according to its own privacy practices and may use service providers or infrastructure located outside Canada.
Teachers, school staff, or other authorized adults should complete workshop requests. Students should not use the workshop-request form to submit personal information.
Feedback Surveys
Following a presentation or workshop, participants may be invited to complete an optional feedback survey. We use this feedback to evaluate and improve presentations and workshops and may use aggregated or de-identified results in reports or promotional materials.
Feedback surveys do not require students to provide their names. However, responses may not be completely anonymous. Information voluntarily included in a response, an optional email address, written comments, timestamps, or limited technical information may make a participant identifiable.
Students should not include sensitive personal information in their responses.
A survey may include a separate, optional opportunity to subscribe to the email list. Providing feedback does not automatically subscribe a participant. An email address will only be used for marketing when the participant actively requests the subscription and provides the required consent.
Email List
If you voluntarily subscribe to the email list, we collect your email address and any other information requested on the subscription form.
The email list is managed using MailerLite. MailerLite may process subscriber information on our behalf in jurisdictions outside Canada and according to its own privacy practices.
We use the email list to send poetry, announcements, release information, product updates, workshop news, and other related content.
Purchasing a product, submitting a workshop request, or completing a feedback survey does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.
You may unsubscribe at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link included in an email or by contacting chris@chrisgallant.ca. Unsubscribing will not prevent us from sending necessary transactional or service-related communications about an order, workshop request, or other active business relationship.
Individuals under the age of majority should obtain permission from a parent or guardian before subscribing. We do not knowingly collect email addresses for marketing directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian consent.

We do not currently use personal information collected through purchases or workshop requests for behavioural advertising.
We may add an analytics service, such as Google Analytics, in the future to understand how visitors use the Site. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising cookies, we will provide appropriate information and choices through a cookie-consent tool where required.
Embedded Content and External Websites
Pages on the Site may include embedded audio, video, or other content from external services, including Spotify, Vimeo, or websites hosting Vimeo content.
Embedded content may behave as though you visited the external provider directly. Those providers may collect technical information, use cookies, or record your interaction with the embedded content according to their own privacy policies.
The Site also contains links to external retailers, social-media platforms, and other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of websites operated by other organizations.

Some service providers operate or store information outside Canada. As a result, personal information may be processed in the United States, the European Union, or another jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or government authorities under the laws of that jurisdiction.
By using the relevant Site feature, placing an order, or subscribing to the email list, you acknowledge that service providers may process information outside Canada as described in this policy.

Workshop requests and related correspondence may be retained while needed to arrange the workshop and maintain appropriate business records;
Email subscription information is retained until you unsubscribe or the mailing list is discontinued;
Anonymous or de-identified feedback may be retained indefinitely because it does not identify an individual;
Security and technical logs may be retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose; and
Unnecessary, abandoned, or outdated form submissions may be periodically deleted.
Information may remain temporarily in secure backups after it has been removed from active systems.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle.
However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system, or security method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a privacy breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
Explain whether we hold personal information about you;
Provide access to your personal information;
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent;
Delete information that we are not legally or reasonably required to retain; or
Answer questions about how your information has been handled.
Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide a requested service when the information is necessary to process an order, arrange a workshop, or otherwise fulfil your request.
To make a privacy request, contact chris@chrisgallant.ca. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Children’s Privacy
Students may be invited to complete an optional workshop-feedback survey. Names are not required, but responses may not be completely anonymous if a student voluntarily provides identifying information or subscribes to the email list.
Students aged 13 or older may be offered a voluntary opportunity to subscribe using clear, age-appropriate language. We do not knowingly collect personal information or marketing consent directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian consent.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Site, our services, service providers, or legal obligations.
When changes are made, the revised policy will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date will be changed. Material changes may also be communicated through another reasonable method where appropriate.
